Comprehensive data for the case

You can't be a student of real foods without coming across The China Study.

Through a 20-year partnership of Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, the project surveyed diseases and lifestyle factors in rural China and Taiwan. The project became known as The China Study, and its findings were presented in a book by the project's director, health researcher T. Colin Campbell, PhD, and his son Thomas M Campbell.

When The China Study was released in 2005, it rocked many people's view of health and nutrition. Some call it “the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted” and "inspirational." Many people, including a number of celebrities, cite The China Study as one of the reasons they switched to a plant-based diet and credit it with saving their lives. Others, however, blast the study for drawing incorrect conclusions from the data.

This video summarizes the findings of The China Study. More background can be found in this book review.
