Just a semantic difference?

Dr. McDougall eats vegan and has a plant based diet, but he doesn't like either terminology.

He talks in terms of "starch."

"Starch" I can hear some people exclaim, "that's terrible!"

Well, starch - rice, oats, wheat, corn, beans etc. - have been the basis of the human diet since the dawn of civilization.

Obviously greens, vegetable, and fruits - and reducing and if not eliminating animal products and vegetable oils - is a very good idea.

But your body and brain need energy and starch is a good, clean burning source.

Note: Because in the US Roundup is sprayed on grain crops like wheat to make them easier to harvest, you must get your starch from organic sources.
